About Murray Oliver BEng(Hons)

Murray Oliver, a solicitor specialising in road transport law. With over 20 years of experience in this field, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to assist clients in navigating the complex legal landscape of the road transport industry. Prior to becoming a solicitor, He gained valuable firsthand experience in the road haulage sector as both an HGV and PSV driver, allowing him to understand all aspects of the industry from various perspectives. Murray holds a PSV Transport Manager’s CPC.

During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, He returned to driving, which not only refreshed his practical knowledge but also strengthened his ability to comprehend the current issues facing the transport industry. Combining his legal background with this hands-on experience means that he has a unique advantage in understanding the challenges and requirements faced by road transport operators.

Before qualifying as a solicitor, Murray pursued a career in engineering, which enables him to grasp the technical and mechanical aspects of goods and passenger vehicle operations. This comprehensive understanding allows me to provide tailored legal solutions that address both the legal and operational intricacies of the industry.

Murray has represented clients in public inquiries before the Traffic Commissioner and in the Magistrates’ Courts since 2002. By guiding and assisting operators, he helps them to comprehend the essential requirements for safe and compliant vehicle operations, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet their regulatory obligations.
