Transport Manager Fails to Stop for DVSA – Company Keeps Licence at Traffic Commissioner’s Public Inquiry

The Transport Manager, 75, of this company, represented at Public Inquiry by Barrister Harry Bowyer, ignored the DVSA when they attempted to stop the truck that he was driving. The Director, the transport manager’s son, appalled at what had happened, rang the DVSA within 4 minutes promising to bring truck and driver to the DVSA centre. The truck then picked up two prohibitions. The DVSA then conducted a Desk Based Assessment which revealed further failings. There was a general acceptance that the transport manager, who was operating ion grandfather rights, had had his day and the Traffic Commissioner dealt with the matter by way of a short suspension and a period of grace to acquire a new transport manager.
