Taxi Licence Appeal Success – Costs Awarded

We were approached by a taxi driver after his local council refused his application to renew his private hire / hackney carriage drivers licence. The council had decided that he had deliberately misled them at his subcommittee hearing, and was therefore no longer a “fit and proper person”.

On reviewing the papers and taking detailed instructions, we were able to demonstrate that there had been no attempt to deliberately mislead. The Magistrates not only granted the licence, but ordered the council to pay extensive costs to the driver.
