PSV Driver Retains His Vocational Licence After Driver Conduct Hearing

This PSV driver, represented by Barrister Simon Clarke, was called in for a Driver conduct hearing. The driver, who worked for a private hire and minibus operator, had fallen into a dispute with his passengers after they had directed him to a location some 20 miles beyond the quoted journey. The passengers complained to the TC after the driver had asked for an additional sum to cover the extra distance and, according to the complaint, had become abusive and threatening. The driver, who had a history of complaints against him, was warned as to his future conduct but allowed to retain his PSV licence.
