Private Hire Driver Wins Revocation Appeal at The Old Bailey

Our client, a Private Hire Driver, instructed Smith Bowyer Clarke to represent him following the revocation of his Private Hire Licence following two driving convictions for speeding and failing to give information as to the identity of driver. The client had a total of 9 penalty points. Under Transport for London Policy, failing to give information as to the identity of driver is a major driving offence that results in a revocation where a subsequent licence is not re-issued for a minimum period of a year.

The Solicitor, Laura Newton, and Solicitor Apprentice, Jaskiran Pal, thoroughly prepared the client’s evidence and advised on steps to be taken to strengthen his appeal. Simon Clarke represented him at a hearing at the Central Criminal Court where the Appeal was allowed. The Court agreed that our client was a fit and proper person and granted the Licence.

SBC has barristers and solicitors with years of experience in the Crown Court and the Court of Appeal.
