Operator with Unauthorised Operating Centre Keeps Licence and is Granted Increase in Vehicles Authorised
This operator, represented at Public Inquiry by Barrister Harry Bowyer, was asked to leave his operating centre at short notice by his landlord and failed to notify the Office of the Traffic Commissioner that this was the case. SBC were contacted when he belatedly applied for a new operating centre and helped secure an interim authorisation before the inevitable Public Inquiry.
At Public Inquiry the Traffic Commissioner was sympathetic about the panic that set in with the operator on the loss of his operating centre and was impressed that once he sought professional help he did all that he could to render himself compliant. He was dealt with by way of a formal warning and his increase in authorisation for vehicles was granted as applied for.
