Operator Leaves Traffic Commissioner’s Public Inquiry With a Formal Warning and Increase in Authority of 12 Vehicles
The operator in this matter, represented by barrister Harry Bowyer at Public Inquiry, had a number of problems including an unauthorised operating centre, self employed drivers, financial standing (money kept in wrong pot) and a poor DVSA visit. He was very proactive and dealt with most of the issues after the DVSA had pointed them out. He engaged a competent transport consultant and was able to present an audit to the Traffic Commissioner that showed that the operation was now largely compliant. The Traffic commissioner dealt with the matter by way of a formal warning and allowed the application for an extension of the operator’s vehicle authority.
Moral: Early action to deal with problems as soon as they are known about is worth its weight in gold!
