No Further Action Taken Against Approved Driving Instructors

Laura Newton separately represented two Approved Driving Instructors under investigation following complaints made by members of the Public. In each case, she attended the interview and assisted the ADI to put forward their account and defend their position. In one matter, no further action was taken following the interview. In the second matter, the Registrar required additional evidence, and Laura was able to draft very detailed written submissions on behalf of the ADI. Following this, the Registrar also took no further action against the Instructor. In both cases, it was essential to properly prepare to ensure that a concise account could be given. To remain on the Register an ADI must be able to demonstrate that they are remain fit to do so, which includes upholding the integrity of the profession and ensuring no passengers are put at risk.
