Driver Uploading to TikTok Whilst Driving an HGV Avoids Disqualification at Driver Conduct Hearing

This Driver, represented by Harry Bowyer, barrister, had been taking videos and uploading them to TikTok whilst driving an HGV. They were reported to their employer by a member of the public, dismissed by that employer and reported to the Office of the Traffic Commissioner.

The Traffic Commissioner. whilst appalled by the safety aspects of this case, held back from disqualification owing to the good character, clean driving record loss of job, good references that the driver was able to produce and the fact that they had not been driving HGVs for some months owing to their loss of job and imposed a 6 month suspension of the vocational licence.
