Driver Suspension Reduced to a Third of the Starting Point Recommended in the Senior Traffic Commissioner’s Statutory Guidance.

An HGV driver, represented by Laura Newton, was called to a Driver Conduct Hearing for use of a mobile phone and speeding offences, from separate occasions whilst driving a HGV. The Traffic Commissioner was able to hear details of otherwise positive character, a more recent record without infringements and the impact a suspension would have on the business. For these reasons, a starting point of 6 week suspension was reduced to just two weeks, the difference between retaining and losing employment.
