Company Vehicle Restored after 5kg of Cocaine Discovered in Truck

Millicent Dooher, barrister, represented this European haulage company in their application for the restoration of a Company vehicle. The vehicle had been seized by Border Force upon the discovery of 5kg of cocaine. This was the second time within 12 months that a company vehicle had been seized.

Millicent was able to provide evidence in relation to the Company policies to prevent smuggling, the training and checks made on the driver and the consignment checks to establish that the Company had not been complicit in any compliance. Border Force were therefor able to restore the vehicle free of charge to the Company.

If your company have had a vehicle seized by Border Force for illicit or excise goods, it is possible to make an application for restoration. This must be done within 45 days of the seizure. Get in touch with one of our lawyers today to see if we can help you.
