Applicant With “Main Occupation” Concerns Gets Licence as Applied for at Traffic Commissioner’s Public Inquiry

This aspiring PSV operator, represented by barrister Harry Bowyer, applied for a Restricted PSV Licence. The Traffic Commissioner had concerns as to whether the applicant had sufficient competence and whether they met the “main occupation” requirement where a restricted licence holder cannot have the PSVs producing more money than their purported “main occupation.” After contacting SBC the applicant was put in touch with suitable training and systems and a business plan was created that satisfied the Deputy Traffic Commissioner that this was a suitable operation for a Restricted Licence.
