Civil Penalties for Clandestine Entrants Reduced by Thousands of Pounds

Following arguments put by Simon Clarke the Border Agency has reduced our client’s Civil Penalty down from £8,400 to £126.00. This is a reduction of £8274.00 for a poorly paid driver, a considerable success on any view. Also achieved by Simon was a further reduction of £16,674.00 overall for the Operator.

We have heard people recently say that its not worth appealing against the Civil Penalties imposed on them for illegal immigrants in their trucks – they say it never succeeds and the legal costs are just not worth it. This case again shows that this attitude is simply wrong – we succeed in obtaining substantial reductions in almost all of the cases we pursue all for a low fixed fee.
