A Lithuanian haulage firm received a heavy financial penalty after illegal immigrants were found in one of their trucks entering the UK at Calais. Following detailed submissions prepared by Smith Bowyer Clarke Road Transport Lawyers, the Border Force was persuaded to reduce the total penalty by nearly 90%.
The total penalty the company was left to pay was reduced from several thousand pounds, to just a few hundred.
