Period of Grace Granted at Public Inquiry for PSV Operator to Show Financial Standing

A large coach and bus Operator was granted a 3 month period of grace by the Traffic Commissioner at Public Inquiry. The PSV Operator was able to satisfy the Traffic Commissioner that whilst there had been financial standing problems in the past, the business had prospects of changing this going forward.

The Traffic Commissioner was also concerned that there had been serious maintenance failings found during a DVSA investigation. Evidence was called from a specialist Transport Consultant to show that there had been a dramatic improvement in both compliance and maintenance since the DVSA investigation. After hearing all the evidence, and submissions, the Traffic Commissioner allowed the PSV Operator to continue in business with a minor reduction in the number of vehicles allowed on the licence.
